A colocation (colo) is a data center facility in which your business can rent space for servers and other computing hardware. This generally consists of networking hardware or servers owned by your organization, such as Web or database servers, which are located outside the vicinity of your organization’s premises and “co-located” with Vintage IT Service’s in our cages at a top tier data center.
These facilities provide power, cooling, space, and physical security for your equipment. The reasons that organizations colocate their hardware with Vintage IT Services vary, however it is often because they are not able to provide a suitable location and/or maintenance for such specialized hardware within their premises. It would be too expensive for them to create special facilities, while Vintage already has the facilities ready to go.
Some of the features available for colocating with Vintage IT Services:
- Secure colocation in our private cage at a tier IV data center.
- Redundant 208v power connections.
- A dedicated private network for each customer.
- DDOS Mitigation Services.
- Single 1Gbps network port. (per RU, 10Gbps upgrade also available)
We have many other offerings available for our colocation clients in addition to what we have touched on in this newsletter. If you are interested in pricing or would like to sit down and discuss how colocation can benefit your organization please do not hesitate to reach out to us!
