Fans of Food Network’s Chopped will recognize the idea behind The Keeper Collection and Uchi’s Citywide 86’d, a competition where contestants from participating restaurants compete in elimination rounds The final winner will receive an opportunity to work briefly in a celebrated Chef’s kitchen to learn new techniques and cuisines. All airfare and accommodations will be provided by The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas. Vintage IT Services provides network support and managed IT services to The Wine & Food Foundation.
Secret ingredients are selected before the competition (seemingly non-compatible or wildcard items like purple drink, beer, Corn Pops cereal and pork rinds were in the mix during the initial round).
Fans are invited to cheer on the finalists and enjoy bites and beverages from some of Austin’s favorite restaurants.
The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas has enriched the community and the state by awarding scholarships to culinary arts students, and giving over $1 million to other worthy organizations through their grants awards program.
