Red Cross Delivers Relief and Comfort in Central Texas

Red Cross Delivers Relief and Comfort in Central Texas

The flood waters have receded, but the process of disaster recovery is ongoing. The Red Cross’ Disaster Operation Center (DOC) in New Braunfels is ground zero for all of the volunteers and staff serving the disaster response operation.

Continuing storms and a collapsed bridge have created a nightmare for many of our neighbors in Hays County. Volunteers have come from all over Texas and the U.S. to support this disaster recovery. Humanitarians and Red Cross volunteers want donors to know how much they are appreciated. Even though they are in the trenches, literally, helping disaster victims, they understand that none of the work that they do is possible without the support of the community.

It will take time for those affected to heal and recover. The Red Cross will be there to help people rebuild their lives and become more resilient to crises in the future. If you have already donated to the disaster relief in Texas, thank you. If you would like to make a donation or get information on volunteering, visit redcross.org/tx/austin.
