Skillpoint Alliance Working with Soldiers; Vintage IT Services works on Skillpoint

Warrior Transition Brigade Soldiers (WTB) transitioning to the civilian workplace now have an additional skill set, thanks to Skillpoint Alliance’s Gateway vocational training program. While Vintage IT Services provides network support to Skillpoint, they are providing support to returning soldiers.

The Gateway program provides valuable training and education to war veterans, preparing them for entry-level employment. An 11-member class that included 10 WTB wounded and ill soldiers and an Army veteran recently graduated from a five-week course that prepared the students to work as electrical apprentices.

Skillpoint Alliance is a Managed IT Service customer of Vintage IT Services.  It is a 501 (c)3 here in Austin and the direct job training it provides to soldiers gives them opportunities for success in the civilian community.

Since its first class in 1994 to train the workers needed to change the Bergstrom Air Force Base into the airport it is today, Gateway has evolved to offer 9 training disciplines last year, all while maintaining unmatched results for the industry. 85.3% of Gateway program graduates gained employment within 30 days of graduation.

An editorial about the electrical program in partnership with the WTB was published in the Fort Hood Sentinel.  http://www.forthoodsentinel.com/story.php?id=12648.
