When Austin Pets Alive arrived in Southeast Texas to assist with stranded pets there was no infrastructure to house any rescued animals. Due to this factor, Austin Pets Alive broadened their scope to include all animals, not just pets. They have already brought more that 1700 animals back to Austin for safe care.
